Founded in 1959, the Niceville Housing Authority was chartered under Florida Statutes to provide and administer affordable housing for the citizens of Niceville. The Housing Authority receives policy guidance and operational approval from its five-member Board of Commissioners who are appointed by the Mayor of Niceville. Funding is provided through rent collection and subsidy from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Located in the Northwest panhandle of Florida and bordered by various bayous of the Choctawhatchee Bay, Niceville Housing Authority provides 111 units of Public Housing to low-income, and very low-income residents within the City of Niceville.
